 FAQs

  • In some cases you may be eligible to use out-of-network insurance benefits. You will be responsible for paying for each session in full at time of appointment.

I work with Mentaya, a platform that helps clients get money back on out-of-network therapy sessions. If you have out-of-network benefits, Mentaya will file claims and handle the insurance paperwork to make sure you get reimbursed. Mentaya charges a 5% fee per claim, which includes handling any paperwork required, dealing with denials, and calling insurance companies. It's risk-free: They guarantee claims are successfully submitted, or a full refund of their fees.

Note: Mentaya's goal is to save you time and money. It's completely optional, and as your therapist I do not benefit in any way from your participation.

You can also decide to submit on your own, most insurance companies have you upload your monthly superbill online (it’ll be sent to you on the 1st of each month) and then they will mail you a check with your reimbursement.

  • It’s always a good idea to call the number on the back of your health insurance card listed under Member Services.

You can ask them the following questions:

    • Do I have out-of-network outpatient mental health coverage? (CPT code 90834)

    • Am I able to use these benefits for telehealth?

    • What is my out-of-network deductible?

    • How much of my deductible has been met this year?

    • After I meet my deductible, what percentage of outpatient psychotherapy sessions are covered per session?

    • Do I need a referral from an in-network provider to see someone out-of-network?

    • How do I submit claim forms for reimbursement?

    • How long does it take for me to receive reimbursement?

  • Yes, I reserve a limited number of sliding scale spots in my schedule. If you do not think you can afford my full fee, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

  • I work with clients who are 15 and older, specializing in working with those who identify as women or identify as a member of the LBGTQ+ community.

Due to my professional license, clients must be located in the states of Georgia, Vermont, or Florida to be able to meet for virtual sessions. That means you can be located in Atlanta, Savannah, Burlington, Miami, Orlando, or in between and we can work together!

Anyone can come to my physical office to meet in person located in Brattleboro, Vermont.

  • No, therapists can only provide services in the states they are licensed. I am only licensed to work with residents of Vermont, Georgia, or Florida. You must live in one of these states in order for us to work together.

  • That's no problem! You don't need to. During your consultation call we will briefly go over why you are reaching out and then can schedule an hour intake session if that feels right. From there I can provide recommendations and options for how we can move forward, and we will collaborate on that plan together.

  • This can change day to day, so I would recommend reaching out to me through the consultation request form, and I commit to responding within 5 business days to let you know if I have current openings or not.

If I don't, I will do my best to give you an estimate of when I may have an opening. We can schedule a consultation so you can decide if it feels like a potential good fit for you for when I do have availability.

For those who don’t have or choose not to utilize their insurance, I will provide you a copy of your Good Faith Estimate based off the No Surprises Act.

Information regarding this act can be seen here: No Surprises Act/Good Faith Estimate.
